Two years ago, the world of Idyll was abandoned, with only traces of an ancient civilization remaining. Alien life has flourished, and massive creatures slumbered deep in the oceans and earth. And yet with the arrival of a colony ship from somewhere unknown, the plane has begun to stir. The colonists seek to harmonize with the plane, and yet they find themselves beset upon by ancient kaiju intent on destroying them. The colonists had no choice but to fight back in any way they could, chief among them their giant mechs, made to fight wars and now used to slay beasts. Greatest among all these machines is Zyxtron, a mech powered by the heart of a dying world. With these mechs, the colonists of Idyll have hope they can survive.
Meanwhile, an inscrutable machine lurks in the heart of Idyll. In a laboratory filled with clones, this machine seeks to unlock the secrets of interplanar travel and deliver the same ruin it brought to Idyll a hundred years ago to the rest of the Multiverse. With a mind-controlled planeswalker in its grip, and an army of clones at hand, it just might succeed. The pilots of Idyll will have to fight a war on two fronts, one on the kaiju, and the other on the threat that lies within.
